India has been long known for its abundance of its spices and its cuisines. Tandoori cuisine comes from the north of India. The name tandoori masala comes from the type of clay pot used to cook some dishes in which some of the unique spice blends are used. It is the blend of the different spices like fenugreek, cardamom, star anise, nutmeg, fennel, etc. that have astonishing flavor and are superfoods for our body. The tandoor is a traditional clay oven of northern India that uses charcoal to generate the combination of heat, convention, and smoke that cooks the dish to perfection.
So the good news is that you don’t need a tandoor to make tandoori chicken. The same could be achieved in our at-home ovens or grills. While tandoori chicken may be the most famous, there are plenty of foods that taste amazing with the same tandoori spices. I have put together a list of enticing tandoori ingredients just for you. Use our tandoori delight with yogurt, crushed ginger garlic, to make a delicious marinade for meat, chicken, veggies, and paneer ( cottage cheese ).
As mentioned previously marinate your chicken in yogurt, crushed ginger garlic, some onion cubes, some colored peppers, along with our tandoori delight for a minimum of 2 hours. and you are in tandoori heaven. This is a great outdoor summer grilling recipe as well as for wintery tandoori nights.
